alcohol and youth.
Today I saw a friend at the schoppingcentre who is a mom of a few youths.
She told me she received a letter from the council telling her that she should be aware of the dangers of alcohol and inform her children about it.
As she, not her husband, not her children use alcohol, just because they [...]
Longest day
It’s the longest day again.
Summer started today.
Just a few days and I’ll get my final diploma’s.
I’ve applied for jobs at different places and with different requirements.
Last week the flu hit me and I’m glad it did then. Many people around are suffering from it and I wouldn’t have escaped.
By the time they’ll ask me for [...]
A bit better
I’m feeling a bit better, ofcourse thanks to all your well wishes.
Thank you!
I’ve heard that many people are ill now, so I’m not the only one.
Flu too
Hmmm pnmmm mmummmnuuummm.
That’s about how I sound at the moment.
Couldn’t write down the scratchy sound too.
It’s almost fun to hear me.
Well, they say a flu lasts just 1 week.
So I’ll be OK when I
ll get my last diploma.
Flu
You won’t believe it.
I woke up with muscle aches and a lot of other things that makes someone say: “it’s the flu”.
I’m glad for you it’s not contageous through blogging.
See you tomorrow!
insects in food
I don’t know where the hype is coming from, but the past days many papers reported about eating insects.
Ofcourse I know that some cultures use insects as a protein source, but I’m not sure I’d want to eat them.
I think the idea of cracking legs between my teets, and parts of those legs sticking in [...]
elections: work and illness
Now the elections areĀ less than a month away the parties are trying to get the attention of the voters.
The PvdA wants an independent doctor for those who work.
Now ill workers are seen by a doctor who are paid by…guess who. Yep.
So they’re not independent, and in the past I’ve seen many people send to [...]
Dirty Amsterdam
Laane blogged about the strike of the cleaners of Amsterdam here.
She will be disgusted to hear that the strikers have decided to add a week extra.
Several people who went to the city today told me they have never seen such a mess in the city.
Piled up bags with garbage, containers from food and drinks everywhere, [...]
Caretakers can’t take care of everything
For some years now I’ve seen the decline of professional care.
I’m not meaning that professional care is of less quality, when it’s available.
I’m meaning that there’s less money for professional caretakers and that familymembers and friends have to take over.
Each saturday I help an elderly woman. I clean her house when she can’t afford a [...]
The new flu season
Guestpost by Laane from Laane on the World and Laane Loves
Everyone agrees: they’ve made a mess of the way they’ve dealt with the mexican flu.
Too many people alarmed, sketching a far too serious scenario, and spending far too much money on vaccines that were never used.
Only Spain and the UK were hit bad by the [...]
